Bending Your Knees on Campus
Dr. Barry St. Clair & Keith Naylor

Part 1: 'You mean prayer can really make a difference?'
It was 5:26 A.M. Friday. Cold. Dark. Not a sound except my breathing. I sat in my car facing the high school. Stay awake! Keep warm! To amuse myself I blew smoke rings with my breath, fogging my windshield...

Neo, Frodo, and Scripture
How Destiny Drives Story
by Matthew Everhard

"For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son"—Romans 8:29

The Revival of Destiny

With last November’s worldwide release of the final showdown in the Matrix series and the December completion of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, destiny has become cool again. In both blockbusters, destiny, fate, and even predestination are again in the forefront of our consciousness. Both main characters in these epics struggle throughout the film to discover, live up to, and even fight off their own destinies. The bottom line is that it makes for great movies—especially when the special effects and battle scenes are first rate.

OK, point taken...I owe you all an apology
I am sorry.

I haven't been updating this site, other than a few notes about House Party and/or Sunday School. The frustrating thing about this type of communication is that I have no idea if anyone is even reading this, unless you (Catherine :)) post a note. I'm not looking to create an online diary of my daily life--who'd want to read that?--but I do want to post articles or tidbits of info that I think will provoke thought and discussion.

That being said, I ask you, the reader, this question: What are you reading to help you grow as a follower of Jesus? Who is shaping your life?

Post a comment here or on the discussion board and let's get this flowing again!
